COVID-19 portal and Hamro Swasthya mobile app (COVID-19)

SOCH Nepal has provided a remarkable ICT solution to fight COVID-19 to the health ministry of Nepal. SOCH Nepal provides web-based and mobile app based solutions for information dissemination among people. Both portals provided the real time information and awareness materials to more than  40 lakh people per day. The Hamro Swasthya App was awarded as the best application to help Nepali during COVID-19 pandemic by the information and technology minister of Nepal.

Mahottari Model village program

Mahottari Model village program is the program to make a sustainable village. SOCH Nepal with the help of GNI Australia has organized 33 dalit households of Mahottari district where development initiatives are taken with community participation.

CIAA digitization program

SOCH Nepal has supported the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to develop mobile applications with the purpose of making it easy to complain grievances. The application  has  features of Complaint registration, news/notice of CIAA and integrated data of CIAA. The digitization program will be further expanded in future.

Citizen Participation Audit (CPA) program

The Office of General Auditor (OAG) has implemented the CPA while conducting its regular Audit. SOCH Nepal has worked together with OAG to conduct citizen participation audits in different sub-national governments.

Gandarva cultural promotion program

One of the key issues of SOCH Nepal is to fight untouchability. Dalits are the most skilled cultural group of Nepal but facing inhuman discrimination of untouchability at the same time. Gandarvas are the cultural group of people who traditionally hold the legacy of the music industry of Nepal. SOCH Nepal works with Gandarva to promote the Nepali folk musical culture among Nepali people. One of the key events of the program is to organize music competitions and honoring them.

Humanist Relief distribution program for earthquake victims

The 2015 mega-earthquake has killed more than 8000 people with unpredictable loss of property. SOCH Nepal launched the program to provide humanitarian relief to people in pain. SOCH Nepal reached Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Dolakha, Gorkha, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk and Okhaldhunga district to provide the relief program. SOCH Nepal provided immediate relief programs as well as reconstruction of individual houses and schools.

Breaking Bad Traditions Project

SOCH Nepal is launching programs to organize victims of Kurities to fight against it. SOCH provides access to justice using various means and creating pressure through pressure groups.

National Campaign against Kuriti

SOCH Nepal with collaboration with National WOmen’s commission conducted nationwide research to identify the Kurities. Local people were invited to brief the local kurities they have experienced. Those were listed and further investigated prior to listing as Kuriti. A detail research booklet was published after the field survey.

Media Monitoring and report publication on Kuriti

SOCH Nepal is constantly monitoring the issues of Kurities in Nepal published in printed and online media. Those events of Kurities are recorded in a format. Based upon those monitoring SOCH Nepal publishes the quarterly report on Kurities and their effect in Nepal. The report is well recognized by national and international agencies. UN has well recognized SOCH Nepal’s findings in its UPR reports.

Humanist College Seminar on Critical Thinking

SOCH Nepal is continuously organizing seminars on critical thinking at various colleges. The events were organized with the objective to promote Scientific way of thinking to end various forms of injustices and discriminations. This also develops innovative thinking among youth.
